BOTH says RONNIE CULLY:

THERE can be no denying keeping a clean sheet for 13 league games and 1215 minutes not only places Fraser Forster into the record books, but also into the very top bracket of keepers.

Equally, the big man will be the first to concede he is extremely fortunate to have a defensive wall in front of him which is coping very efficiently with what is coming at them.

That means Fraser, on average, has just a couple of saves to make in a game.

But, he does make them, often displaying tremendous agility, flexibility, reflexes and, just as importantly, concentration to do so.

Critics try to undermine his achievements by highlighting Rangers are not in the top division.

But, when Bobby Clark set the shut-out record, it was in an 18-team league, which, by definition, means the range of quality of opposition was diluted.

LUCKY says MICHAEL GRANT:

IT is good that Fraser Forster is an intelligent man because it means he should appreciate the great record he has broken with Celtic.

Fully 43 years of Scottish football passed - just think of all the great sides that have graced the game in that time - without Bobby Clark's run of consecutive league clean sheets being bettered.

Forster is fortunate on two counts. Firstly, he would usually have a strong Rangers to face and, of course, they are absent. Celtic's domestic environment is less demanding than ever.

Secondly, he is behind the best back four Celtic have had for almost a decade. He has been quick to praise the protection provided by Virgil van Dijk, Efe Ambrose et al.

Forster will not be a legendary Celtic goalkeeper unless he stays for far longer and achieves much more.

But he has made history, and he is an excellent goalkeeper enjoying one of the great periods of his career.
