KRIS COMMONS has revealed Celtic have been desperate to win a domestic Treble since his first day at the club.

The 32-year-old did not attempt to hide that a clean sweep, plus tangible European success, was what every player wanted for next season.

Celtic came close to winning all three trophies under Neil Lennon and again this season, but neither the former manager nor Ronnie Deila managed to emulate Jock Stein and Martin O'Neill's previous feats.

Commons, speaking at launch of the club's new strip, said: "I am in my fifth season here and ever since I walked in the door there has been talk of us winning a Treble, and that is something we are desperate to do. It is going to be high on our agenda.

"And we want to get to the Champions League group stages. That is where we want to be, without a doubt."

This goal was back by first-team coach John Collins. Like Commons, the former Celtic midfielder was happy to admit that not winning what would be the club's fourth treble would be viewed as something of a disappointment.

Collins: "Winning the treble next season is our target. We probably should have won it this season."
