CELTIC will likely face Swedish champions Elfsborg in the Champions League third qualifying round after the draw in Nyon.

Neil Lennon's team or Cliftonville were drawn against the Scandinavian side or Latvian outfit Daugava Daugavpils.

However, the Parkhead side are 3-0 ahead from the first leg of their second round tie against the Northern Irish side, while Elfsborg - with Celtic striker Mo Bangura on loan - thrashed their opponents 7-1.

The Hoops have good memories of playing Scandinavian sides, defeating HJK Helsinki of Finland home and away at this stage last season, then recording 2-0 victories in both legs against Helsingborgs of Sweden in the play-off round.

Elfsborg won the Swedish league to book their place in the Champions League qualifiers, and will have a fitness advantage over Celtic as their championship is well underway.

Bangura is helping them mount the defence of their title after Celtic agreed to loan him to them until back in August.

However, it is as yet unclear if any agreement has been reached between the clubs to prevent the striker playing against his parent club in the ties which will be played on July 30/31, with the return legs the following week.
