UEFA have today confirmed Celtic have failed in their bid to include John Guidetti in their squad for the Europa League group stage games.

The Swedish striker has now officially joined the Hoops on a season-long loan from Manchester City, after Fifa agreed to sanction his transfer which had not been completed before Monday's 11pm deadline.

However, squads had to be registered with Uefa for the Europa League and Champions League by 11pm on Tuesday.

And, with Guidetti's deal not ratified at that point, he misses out.

Celtic will have the opportunity to include Guidetti in their squad if they make it through to the knock-out rounds, which begin in February.

But, until then, he will have to be content to play in domestic matches.

The squad is: Craig Gordon, Lukasz Zaluska; Charlie Mulgrew, Efe Ambrose, Jason Denayer, Emilio Izaguirre, Mikael Lustig, Adam Matthews, Virgil van Dijk; Kris Commons, Scott Brown, James Forrest, Liam Henderson, Callum McGregor, Nir Biton, Beram Kayal, Stefan Johansen, Mubarak Wakaso, Filip Twardzik; Leigh Griffiths, Jo Inge Berget, Derk Boerrigter, Stefan Scepovic, Anthony Stokes, Aleksandar Tonev.
