Henrik Larsson has stepped down as coach of Falkenberg.
The former Celtic and Barcelona striker defied expectations by leading the Swedish minnows to safety in the Allsvenska - in what the club described as their "most successful season ever" - but he has still decided to leave.
Larsson, 43, has been linked with the hot seat at IFK Gothenburg after they sacked Mikael Stahre last week.
"Henrik Larsson has informed us that he will not extend the contract," Falkenberg sporting director Hakan Nilsson said in a statement on the club's website.
"We would have liked to continue but respect obviously his decision."
