Super Swede John Guidetti today picked up his first award since moving north from Manchester City on loan.

The Celtic striker has been named SPFL Player of the Month for October, a period in which he scored five goals, including a hat-trick in the League Cup demolition of Partick Thistle.

It has been form which Guidetti has extended into November, and he is currently on a goal streak of six in his last four games.

This has earned him a call-up to the full Sweden squad for next week's European Championship qualifier against Montenegro.

The 22-year-old received his trophy at the Hoops' Lennoxtown training ground, though there were very few team-mates around to celebrate with him.

The award offsets, to some extent, missing out on the group stage of the Europa League, in which Celtic play Astra in Romania tonight.

Guidetti's season-long signing could not be completed before the deadline for registering players for the group stage.

But, if Celtic can reach the knockout rounds - which could happen tonight, if results go their way - Guidetti can look forward to making his Euro debut for Ronny Deila's side.
