Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk has set his sights on tomorrow night's game at Dens Park as he looks to recover from Sunday's disappointment at Hampden.

The Treble dreams of Ronny Deila's side came apart at the National Stadium as Inverness Caledonian Thistle earned a 3-2 win after their last gasp extra-time goal.

It was an afternoon that stung the Parkhead men, but the Dutch defender believes they need to bounce back as quickly as possible.

"It's very disappointing of course but we need to move on," he said. "On Wednesday we play Dundee away.

"That's a big game so we need to be ready for that but first we need to recover.

"There is a lot of disappointment. Everybody is down but we are professionals and we need to focus on Dundee."

Van Dijk was reluctant to offer an opinion on the mistake that many within the Celtic camp believe cost them their chance of a clean sweep of the domestic trophies on offer.

"It should be the key moment but it didn't happen so it's nothing to talk," he said. "We lost and we're very disappointed."

Josh Meeking's handball was missed by referee Steven McLean while Celtic were then reduced to ten men shortly before the hour mark when Craig Gordon was sent off.

The Parkhead side visibly tired as the game went into extra-time before they were hit by a sucker punch with three minutes of time remaining.

"We gave everything," said van Dijk. "With ten men we kept on fighting, we had enough quality to create a goal but unfortunately it wasn't enough. We will look at our own performance."
