GLASGOW Green is being transformed into a giant "living room" to celebrate the Commonwealth Games, hosting a festival of music, dance, art and theatre which will run alongside Glasgow 2014.

Across the city, Festival 2014 will feature more than 1000 performances in more than 100 venues and will run from tomorrow.

City songbird Lulu will get the party started for the Commonwealth Games at Glasgow Green.

The Dennistoun-born singer will perform alongside a host of Scottish acts to coincide with the opening ceremony at Celtic Park.

Revellers will also be able to watch all the action from the opening and closing ceremonies at the park celebrations.

The Festival 2014 Opening Ceremony Parties will kick off 12 days of live entertainment, with hundreds of performers appearing during the Games.

Entertainment will be on offer from morning to night at Glasgow Green, with each area set up as a massive home with different "rooms" each hosting a houseparty.

The main stage 'living room' will feature bands, orchestras, choirs and films while the 'kitchen' will be cooking up the best of Scottish produce.

Entry is free and unticketed at all times, aside from the Opening and Closing Ceremony Parties.
