COMMONWEALTH Games bosses are stepping up their bid to lure Usain Bolt to compete this summer.
Senior officials at the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) are keen to secure the world record holder, who doesn't have to decide if he appears until June - a month before the event kicks off.
As part of their campaign to woo the Jamaican, they are appealing to his appetite for breaking world records.
Peter Murphy, spokesman for the CGF, the ruling body of the Games, said: "We're in constant touch with his management.
"The case we'll make is that the Games offers an opportunity to break records that have been standing for decades.
"Usain has won medals at every major event, except the Commonwealth Games. And he will get an unbelievable welcome.
"Glasgow will grind to a halt."
