CRAFTY residents have brightened up their streets for the Games.
Locals in Mount Florida have 'craft bombed' lampposts, bike racks, fences and green spaces with home-made art in a bid to liven up the area around Hampden.
The Scattercraft group joined forces with Mount Florida Primary School to create flags, knitted sculptures, ceramics and artwork to line the route to the stadium.
More than 280 people from Glasgow and further afield contributed pieces for the project, which was funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
The creations were installed over two days, stretching from Mount Florida train station to the stadium.
Katie Bruce, member of Scattercraft, said a similar project had been done for the London Olympics, and added: "We decided for the Commonwealth Games we would do it bigger and bolder, and make more of a statement about Mount Florida.
"Some of the parents from the school are craft makers and artists, and each child in the school contributed."
Passersby agreed the creations added "colour" and "brightness" to the Hampden area.
Amy Johnstone, 48, of Mount Florida, said: "I don't know where they came from, or who put them up, but they're a nice addition. I think it's more for the Commonwealth Games visitors than locals, but they are nice and bright."
