TWENTY more people working at the Athletes Village are believed to be suffering from Norovirus.

It brings the total number affected by the bug to 32.

All 20 new cases have been told to stay at home until they are clear of the virus.

The Public Health Protection Unit of NHSGGC has been made aware of all of the cases and is working closely with the Games organisers and Health Protection Scotland on local infection control measures at the Village to minimise risk.

Dr Catriona Milosovice, Consultant in Public Health Medicine for the board said the board was continuing to monitor the situation closely and there were no reports of an athletes being affected.

The chief medical officer for Glasgow 2014 said they had "robust" measures in place to try and contain the vomiting bug at the athletes village.

Dr John MacLean said it was impossible to say how many people could be hit by the suspected bug or when it might peak.
