FIRE services in Glasgow have issued a warning ahead of the Commonwealth Games.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has published a document with advice to help hotel and guest house owners make sure that their fire safety arrangements are up to standard.

The guides will affect anyone who is offering a room in the city, including B&Bs, as well as the thousands of spectators who will be coming to the city.

Lewis Ramsay, director of prevention and protection, reminded the public this will affect anyone renting out or staying in a temporary home.

He said: "This by no means the full list of property types covered under fire safety legislation and you should carefully consider the range of fire safety arrange-ments that you may need to implement.

"Detailed inform-ation is available on our website."
