THEY'VE won the accolade of being the "best Commonwealth Games ever" and as Glasgow draws breath in the wake of 11 days of top sporting action, the athletes are preparing to take a bow.

The Team Scotland Parade will be held in Glasgow on Friday and promises a rousing finale to the Games.

The route will start at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum at 4.15pm before

the seven-strong fleet of vehicles travel through the city to the finish at George Square.

Louise Martin CBE, chair of sportscotland, said: "It is wonderful that this parade will give the people of Scotland the chance to come out to salute their heroes of the Games and allow the athletes the opportunity to thank them for their support.

Cabinet Secretary for Commonwealth Games and Sport Shona Robison said: "The parade's atmosphere will be unbelievable."

Councillor Gordon Matheson, Leader of Glasgow City Council, said: "Glasgow's Games was a sporting event like no other with Team Scotland leading the medal charge in front of the best fans in the world."

Athletes are expected to arrive at George Square at around 5.30pm. George Square will be a ticketed event and we have 25 family passes to be won.
