Located near to the famous Carnoustie Golf Links on Scotland's east coast, on a spectacular 950-hectare site, the centre was also used for the Edinburgh Games in 1986.
In 1897 the land was sold by Lord Panmure to the War Office for use as a military training area and it continues to be used by the MOD today.
The area is also an important habitat for wildlife including skylarks, meadow pipits, linnets and stonechats.
