Glasgow's oldest public park is to host the men's and women's hockey events, with work being done to ensure it leaves a lasting legacy for the sport in Scotland.

The £5.5m venue is owned by Glasgow City Council and is situated next to the Glasgow Green Football Centre, a short walk from the city centre.

Two new synthetic pitches will be in place on the site, with room for 4500 temporary seat for the Games and 500 permanent ones for future competitions.

Following the Games, this world-class facility be a new base for Scottish Hockey and will be used by schools all over Glasgow.

Glasgow Green will also be the start line for competitors in the Marathon and the Cycling Road Race.
