Lawn Bowls

Situated in a stunning location in the West End of Glasgow, Kelvingrove will host all the Lawn Bowls matches.

Thanks to the installation of new seating, 2,500 spectators will be able to watch as the singles, pairs, triples and fours get underway in Glasgow.

The centre, which sits directly adjacent to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and is overlooked by the University of Glasgow, has benefited from the complete reconstruction and upgrading of five bowling greens to international standard.

The re-laying of the turf has allowed the greens to be playable since 2012 andthey are already a hit with bowlers from all over Scotland. The old turf was recycled and is now in use at two of Glasgow's municipal golf courses, Lethamhill and Ruchill.

A new pavilion for the centre has already been built by Glasgow City Council, thus leaving a legacy not only for current club members, but for new and casual users. It will also be used as a regional training centre for clubs and younger participants in order to boost the interest in the game.
