TOURISTS around the world are to hear the new slogan that People Make Glasgow.

And here's your chance to shine a spotlight on those individuals as we launch our latest search for the city's unsung heroes.

The fourth stage of five in the Glasgow Community Champion Awards in 2013 covers an area stretching from the Merchant City to Yoker and Drumchapel.

We want you to tell us about the neighbourhood heroes of the West & Central area to help us honour their commitment to making Glasgow a better place to live and work.

It could be a carer who selflessly gives up their time, a school pupil tirelessly fundraising for charity, a housing association that's helping to build better lives, or a uniformed service committed to making our communities safer.

If you know a group or individual whose efforts deserve recognition, then tell us about them today by downloading a nomination form from our website or call us for a hard copy of the entry form.

The deadline for entries is Thursday, August 1.

All nominations received will be considered by a judging panel made up of representatives from the awards partners, Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Community Planning Partnership, GHA, Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and your Evening Times.

The shortlisted finalists will be invited to an awards ceremony in the heart of the West & Central community on August 21.

The free event is open to everyone – it's a chance to chat to the people making the decisions affecting your area.

We'll also be looking to showcase local talent on the night, so please get in touch if you know of a lively act who would be a fitting finale to the ceremony.

The current search area covers the neighbourhoods around the city centre, Merchant City, Anderston, Yorkhill, Hillhead, Woodlands, Broomhill, Partick, Hyndland, Dowanhill, Anniesland, Jordanhill, Whiteinch, Yoker, Scotstoun, Knightswood, Blairdardie, Temple and Drumchapel.
