A COMPLIMENT gives a better feel-good boost than a bar of chocolate.
The claim comes from a survey of people in Glasgow which found that 58% would rather be praised than go for a workout (13%), have a bar of chocolate (9%) or a glass of wine (9%).
The poll was commissioned by National Lottery Good Causes to highlight the £1billion that has been invested in projects supporting health and wellbeing.
Arlene Phillips, choreographer and Strictly Come Dancing judge, said: "People don't always realise the little things they do can have such a big impact on others. Lottery players raise £25million a week for good causes."
