A SCOTS council is in chaos over the collapse of its Labour administration.
West Dunbartonshire Council's new leader and his deputy are no longer Labour councillors, leaving only seven of the party's 17 councillors elected in 2003 still loyal to it. New leader Denis Agnew - the council's second leader in four months - quit the party last year.
And it emerged today Labour bosses have ordered the seven councillors to move into opposition but they can't do so while loyalist Provost Alistair Macdonald is still in the top job. He is not expected to stand down until May.
One official said: "We don't know who the administration is. It's in a state of flux."
