POLICE had to deal with more than 4800 incidents in the wake of Saturday's crunch title game between Rangers and Celtic.
That was up almost 800 on the previous match between the two teams.
The figures were revealed by police after an extra 1000 officers were across the city on Saturday night to cope with an expected surge in trouble.
Officers made 11 arrests in and around Ibrox Stadium, with two for breach of the peace while one was for a sectarian breach of the peace.
The remaining eight people were detained for minor offences.
Around 10 people were involved in a clash outside Yates's Wine Lodge in the city's West George Street at 10.30pm.
Domestic violence complaints for the night were down 28%, but police were still called 168 times for such incidents.
Compared with the previous match in February, there was a 15% drop in serious assaults, down from 34 to 20.
However, because there were more officers on patrol as part of the high-visibility approach, there was more chance of incidents being reported.
Police said that although there was an increase in the total number of incidents following Saturday's game, not all were connected to the match.
In all there were 4808 incidents, against 4049 in the last Old Firm match in february.
Last Saturday, with a weekend of normal fixtures, there were just 3517 incidents. For the two weekends before that the figures were 3135 and 3611.
