RADIO Clyde's breakfast show presented George Bowie is to baldly go where no breakfast show presenter has gone before.
George, 40, has revealed he is set to have a hair transplant.
The presenter, who lives in Kilbarchan, has been talking about the loss of his locks on air for sometime.
But it's only after reading Diary Of A Hair Transplant - written by Evening Times showbiz writer Brian Beacom - that George has decided new hair is a possibility.
George invited the Evening Times writer on to his show today to ask about the journalist's own hair story. And he revealed his own hair woes.
"I've been looking hard in the mirror recently and I realise I don't want to be bald," said George.
"I found myself going to gigs and wearing a baseball cap because I was so conscious of having this bald patch. And when you have a bald head it ages you. I didn't want to look old before my time."
George however reckoned that the results achieved by the showbiz writer were impressive. And he had a little tug at Brian's new hair - just to make sure it was real.
"It's great," said George. "It feels entirely natural. And it looks thick. Honestly, I think you look 10 years younger and now I plan to do the same. You've convinced me. I'm going to have my hair done."
George added: "I've been thinking about having a transplant in Florida, but having seen this result close up I'll certainly check out the Farjo Clinic in Manchester.
"I've heard of lots of cases where transplants don't quite work out and I appreciate you need to go to the top man."
George's co-presenter Des McLean encouraged his pal to go ahead on the head work.
He said: "Thankfully, I don't have a problem with hairloss, but I can understand why a man would want to re-grow their hair. We've come a long way since the days when it was only women who concerned themselves with issues of vanity.
"If you can get new hair, and you can afford it, then go for it."
