Former The Only Way Is Essex star Joey Essex, who famously admitted to being unable to blow his nose or tell the time, is to share his life and thoughts in a memoir.

The TV charmer - who was a contestant on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! last year - was the subject of a bidding battle by rival publishers.

His book, Being Reem, is due to be published on May 22 and publisher Hodder & Stoughton said it will provide a "real insight into the world of a truly exceptional character".

The former nightclub promoter astounded many viewers - and fellow jungle campmates - when he admitted on I'm A Celebrity tat he was unable to master basic skills such as telling the time and using a handkerchief. In another TV appearance he revealed that he thought squares have six sides.

Commissioning editor Briony Gowlett said: "Joey Essex is a one-off. Not only does he have bags of natural charm and a unique style, but he's as authentic as they come. I'm so pleased that he's chosen us to help him tell his story and I feel sure that this book will be a must have for any Joey fan."

Essex, 23, said: "I've done some pretty wicked things in the last few years but getting to bring out a book is really cool. I'm looking forward to my fans reading all about my life so far and meeting them when the book comes out."

Last week it was announced that he had also put his name to a dance music compilation, allowing fans to share his musical choices.
