ORGANISERS of a long-running club night at The Arches are holding an event for under-21s after the venue imposed an over-21s age limit.

Pressure announced yesterday they would host a club night for 18 to 21-year-olds at the same time as their End of Season party, for over-21s, on March 28.

The venue of the 18-21s party, called Under Pressure, has yet to be announced.

The move came after the Glasgow nightclub increased its age policy to over-21s following the death of 17-year-old Regane MacColl.

Regane, from Duntocher, died in the early hours of February 2.

She became ill and collapsed while attending the Colours club at The Arches on the Saturday night.

She is suspected to have taken a red 'Mortal Kombat' ecstasy pill.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Pressure said: "Recent developments have seen some members of our loyal crowd shut out of their venue of choice due to their age, so we also have a second party which will be running concurrently on March 28th just for them. # UnderPressure - venue to be announced...Strictly for Under 21s (Over 18s)."

The Arches has received criticism over the strict age limit. More than 1000 people have signed a petition in protest against the nightclub's new policy.

A statement from The Arches previously said they were working with Police Scotland's licensing division to review their policies and ensure a "safer clubbing environment within the venue".
