Verdict: five stars

The end is nigh for pop hunks The Wanted, so how do you get up from an all time low?

Go and see their 'farewell' tour, of course, which rolled into Glasgow's SSE Hydro tonight.

The group are set to part their ways for a 'break' but we all know that means it could be a long time before we ever see them together again...if pop history is anything to go by.

Announcing their presence on stage with an explosion of fireworks, the boys - Max, Nathan, Siva, Jay and Tom - opened up with Gold Forever.

Tom welcomed the fans to the show saying, "Glasgow! Welcome to the Word of Mouth tour! Tonight is all about reminiscing the last four years. Tonight is dedicated to every single one of you in the room."

It's hard to believe it has only been four years since The Wanted came on the scene, and it's even harder to fathom why they want to jack it all in.

With their chiselled good looks, distinctive vocals, radio friendly tunes and likeable personalities - they could easily continue to dominate the pop market.

The show opening had a rock vibe as the band belted out tracks Lightening and Warzone which aptly warmed the crowd up for what was to come.

The Kings of Leon sounding Lose My Mind came after a quick costume change.

And heartthrob Max George spoke over screams and said, "This is awesome by the way. Thank you very much. We got changed quickly and we were buzzing backstage, honestly it's a pleasure to be here."

The ballad Heart Vacancy had everyone at the Hydro singing along and swaying from side to side.

Another costume change - c'mon boys it is not a fashion show - came as the group's career highlights were shown on the big screen.

Mocking the dance moves made famous by their boyband predecessors, the lads belted Walks Like Rihanna before singing Chasing The Sun.

Nathan's voice was simply outstanding all the way through especially on I Found You...it is easy to see why he has already been snapped up to record solo music. While Max's distinctive vocals shined on anthem Own The Night.

The encore was teased with, "Is it the end?" on the big screen before the boys sang the track where it all started All Time Low and icing on the top was finishing off with worldwide hit Glad You Came.

There wasn't a dry eye in the house as the boys filled with tears causing their fans to get emotional over the impending hiatus.

Girls and unashamedly women love a boyband - and when they are as good as The Wanted it makes supporting them all that much easier.

It is a sad day that they are going to go their separate ways - and while they may have their own success in their new solo ventures...it will somehow never be as magical as when they are together.
