Rizzle Kicks star Jordan Stephens has been cast in a new edgy youth drama for E4.

The Mama Do the Hump star joins names such as Yasmin Paige from the movie Submarine and Callum Turner from ITV's Leaving in eight-part series Glue, which looks at the dark underbelly of a rural community when bored teenagers are caught up in a murder.

Channel 4 said the series was "twisted and wayward, tragic and comic" and will take audiences on a "wild and thrilling ride" as the mystery of a boy whose body is found beneath a tractor unravels.

Charlotte Spencer from BBC2's Line of Duty and Jessie Cave, best known as Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter films, also feature in the cast.

Established names such as Kerry Fox and Jonny Owen are also in the series, along with Tommy McDonnell, who is currently appearing in British prison movie Starred Up.

Commissioning editor for Channel 4, Sophie Gardiner, said: "The line-up reads like a roll-call of some of the brightest up-and-coming talent around. We can't wait for them to bring our bold new series to life. Brace yourselves for a trip to the countryside, E4-style."

Glue has been written by Jack Thorne who has worked on hits such as Skins, This Is England and The Fades.
