SOME of the world's most successful musicians may have hit the No 1 spot despite fans not knowing what they're singing about.

Ozzy Osbourne is just one of the industry superstars who have topped the charts when it comes to tricky lines, according to a new poll.

The Black Sabbath frontman bagged the top spot in the survey which rated acts whose lyrics people find difficult to make out.

Flamboyant Born This Way songstress Lady Gaga came second followed by Boombastic reggae musician Shaggy.

The top five was completed by Jamaican musician Sean Paul and rapper Jay-Z.

Two thousand music fans were quizzed by researchers who then compiled the top ten list.

Online music streaming service Blinkbox commissioned the survey which highlights the worst offenders for hard-to-interpret song lyrics.

The list also features global sensation Rihanna, who topped the UK charts for 10 consecutive weeks with her Umbrella single, and pop princess Miley Cyrus.

Late guitarist and singer Jimi Hendrix, who created hits including Purple Haze and Foxy Lady came in eighth position.

Prince and Bob Dylan rounded off the list.
