RAVERS embraced the Glasgow rain to see some of the world's best DJs in action on the first day of The Electric Frog and Pressure Riverside Festival.

Over 4,000 excited fans - travelling from all over the UK and Europe - descended to the Riverside Museum on the banks of the River Clyde in Glasgow on Saturday for the dance event which is now in its second year.

With the Riverside site spectacularly transformed for the premier electronic music festival, the crowd were treated to a unique set from Moritz Von Oswald, getting the fans at stage 2 dancing early on. While over on stage 1, Tiga provided a collection of hits and mixes that shook the walls of the tent and thrilled the crowd.

Andrew Weatherall is always welcomed by the Glasgow crowd, and his set in the early evening was full of energy and attitude.

And it's not often you see four DJs mixing it up for the crowd with a back-to-back set featuring Berlin duo Pan-Pot and Glasgow's very own Slam filling stage 2 giving the crowd a two-and-a-half hour set of eclectic techno beats. The set was something that the world has never seen before, ensuring that the Electric Frog and Pressure Riverside Festival crowd were treated to an epic performance.

2ManyDJs headline set brought the night to a euphoric end as they partied with the fans at stage 1. Album favourites that we all know and love were thrown in with a collection of outstanding remixes including a final mix of Brit-Pop legends Supergrass' 'Alright', leaving the crowd all set for another incredible day at the Riverside Festival on Sunday.

Electric Frog and Pressure Festival Promoter, Dave Clarke said: "We're hugely excited as day one of the festival comes to an end. We have had some outstanding performances today. The location is simply spectacular with the iconic architecture of the Riverside Museum and the views along the river Clyde as the back drop, and it has been amazing to see everyone enjoy themselves. We can't wait to get back here tomorrow for another day of the festival, especially with names like Laurent Garnier and Jamie Jones on the bill."

The fans were equally as excited about the festival.

Callum Black, who travelled from Jersey, said: "I came here for the line-up and to see Vitalic. I love the location, it's very nice and it's the first time I have been to the city."

Friend Sean Hagee, who is originally from Belfast but now lives in Jersey, added: "I am here to see Vitalic. At the moment he has no other UK dates and I love techno."

Felix Da Housecat and Tiga fan Kat Scouller, from Cumbernauld, got to meet her DJ heroes in the city centre before the festival.

She said: "I am having a great time and I got to meet Felix Da Housecat and Tiga so that was good."

Friend Gemma Payne added: "This is my first time, I have been going to Pressure for years. It's good that it's now moved on to a more festival feel rather than just always being in the Arches."

Lisa Aitken, from Greenock, liked that the crowd was a mixture of age groups, saying: "It's good to see a good mix of people of all ages. I guess some have grew up with the DJs who are now older and others are just getting to know them."

Gran Schweinsteiger, from East Kilbride, "Last year, I came and they got it wrong. The spacing wasn't right and the booze ran out too quickly but you can see if they have put a lot into this year's event which is great."

Maxine McLeod, from Knightswood, agreed, "It is definitely a better layout and everything looks a lot better this year."

Colin Harrity, from Clydebank, was looking forward to seeing 2 Many DJs, and said: "It's my first time at the festival but so far I am enjoying it."

Liam Neilly, from The Gorbals, added: "I am here to see 2 Many DJs too - it's also my first time but I am having a good time."
