THE BODYGUARD is coming to Glasgow.

It's been revealed today the musical theatre show based on the 1992 film starring Whitney Huston and Kevin Costner is to be staged in Glasgow next year.

Produced by west end impresarios Michael Harrison and David Ian, The Bodyguard will make its Scottish Premiere at the King's Theatre Glasgow in March, 2015.

The Bodyguard opened at the Adelphi Theatre in London's West End in December 2012, where it continues to play to packed houses and standing ovations.

It was nominated for four Laurence Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical and Best Set Design.

The story tells of how former Secret Service agent-turned-bodyguard Frank Farmer is hired to protect pop superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker.

Each expects to be in charge, but what they don't expect is to fall in love.

The stage show features 'a host of irresistible classics including One Moment in Time, Saving All My Love, I'm Your Baby Tonight, I Wanna Dance with Somebody and one of the greatest hit songs of all time - I Will Always Love You.'

A spokesman for the King's Theatre, said: "We are thrilled to announce that once again the King's will be hosting a Scottish Premiere.

"The Bodyguard is one of the most treasured love stories of all time and we're proud to be able to give Glasgow audiences the opportunity to experience this sensational West End production on their doorstep."
