Cheryl Cole has hinted she may be taking new husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini's name.

The X Factor judge, whose maiden name is Tweedy, has changed her name on Twitter from @CherylCole to @Cherylofficial just hours after announcing her new marriage.

Her old Twitter account has just one tweet remaining which reads: "If you would like to follow Cheryl please visit @Cherylofficial."

She took the name Cole when she married footballer Ashley Cole in 2006.

The 31-year-old singer announced at the weekend she had married French bar-owner Jean-Bernard after a three month whirlwind romance to "stop the speculation" about her new relationship. Posting a picture of her engagement and wedding ring online she wrote: "We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together."

Cheryl has now thanked fans for their support and congratulations, tweeting from her new account: " Thank you for all your kind messages and well wishes."

Her Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts has also spoken out in support of Cheryl's decision to tie the knot so quickly.

Nicola wrote on her Instagram account: "You can be in a relationship for two years and feel nothing; you can be in a relationship for two months and feel everything.

"Time is not a measure of quality; of infatuation, or of love."
