One Direction fans will be able to relive the band's world tour with the release of a concert film which is to be screened in cinemas around the world.

The heartthrob quintet were filmed as they performed at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy, and the show will be seen at more than 10,000 screenings across more than 50 territories in October, in what is said to be one of the biggest cinema events of its kind.

The group's new film, One Direction: Where We Are, will be screened over the weekend of October 11 and 12 and is expected to enjoy similar box office success to their documentary hit This Is Us which was released last year.

The forthcoming release - which includes Simon Cowell among the executive producers - also includes a 15-minute interview and behind-the-scenes footage from the concert.

The group's Zayn Malik said: "The Where We Are tour is coming to a cinema near you for one weekend only."

Tickets for screenings go on sale from July 28.
