SUPERSTAR DJ sisters NERVO have admitted they are sad they will not be playing the Arches when they come to Glasgow on Friday.

The Australian EDM stars were scheduled to play at the Arches before the club was forced into administration after a decision was made by Glasgow City Council to restrict the opening hours on the nightclub arm of the arts venue.

Now the stunning duo, real names Miriam and Olivia Nervo, will shift their set to Glasgow’s o2 Academy.

They said: “So many fond memories of that club, we’ve only played twice.

"We just found out this week that we’re not playing at the Arches, we were a bit sad.

“But we hear this o2 venue is really good as well.

"Hopefully they reopen the Arches in the future because it’s such an iconic place.

"There are not a lot of venues like that in the world.”

The 28-year-old twins, who hail from Melbourne, will however not allow a shift in venue to spoil the party as they know the Scottish crowd will go wild for their set.

Liv said: “Well! Glasgow. We played at The Arches and it was absolutely bonkers. I love that, “here we go thing that you do.

“What really struck me with our shows in Glasgow is that there were a lot of girls in the crowd, a lot of glammed up girls, which is really nice to see.

“Um, did anything crazy happen? Mim, anything crazy happen from our last Glasgow performance?”

Mim added: “We got followed back to our hotel, (laughs) that’s always fun.”

Glamour in the crowd is perhaps expected given NERVO are more fashion savvy than their contemporaries.

The talented pair began their careers as models and the best advice they can offer to their fans is to dress to suit their own bodies.

They said: “We’re limited to suitcases all year round so we have to carry stuff that is very versatile, easily washed, dried and can squish up and fit into our suitcases quite easily.

"So we wear a lot of lycra, a lot of leggings and a lot of bodysuits.

“We just think every girl should dress for their own body so we all have our little tricks.

"Leggings and crop tops and bodysuits seem to work well for us.

“Oh, and get a sneaky heel in there, we love creepers, we love anything with a platform because we’re jumping around a lot we can’t really wear stilettos.

"So a good way to get a heel is to get some creepers or some platforms.”

Aside from jumping around a lot, fans can expect the NERVO girls to give them a great set.

They said: “The fans can expect an hour or more of power.

"A lot of our own records mixed up with a bunch of records that we’re loving at the moment that work really well on the dance floor.

“We also love to do a bunch of throwbacks and we do a whole lot of mash ups ourselves, which keeps our sets interesting.”

Playing Ibiza and other glamorous locations is part and parcel of the DJ lifestyle but do the girls have a favourite place?

They said: “We can’t really pick a favourite place, that would be like choosing your favourite meal. Right now we’re in Ibiza and we’re absolutely loving it.

"We played our first gig at Pacha last night and we just love the island and the vibe.

"You really feel that people going to Ibiza are there to have a good time, they’re really into the music. You know? We love South America as well.

"Asia, we just did an Asia tour recently and that was absolutely bonkers mad, amazing.

"So, I’d love to give you one place but it’s just a little too tough to pick our favourite because we love so many.”

When not performing, the girls have built up an impressive resume as songwriters penning out hits including David Guetta’s When Love Takes Over.

Mim says she would love to work with Eminem and Lauryn Hill in the future while Liv has her eye on a Imogen Heap collaboration.

They admit they love all aspects of their career saying: “We love both, and we feel like creating a balance between everything, the djing and the producing is what really keeps us at a happy equilibrium.

“Just when we’re busy touring for a weekend or two weekends, then we’re happy to take some time off or some days and go sit in front of our computer and write some songs.

"It’s all about the balance.”

NERVO play the o2 Academy on Friday, June 26.
