A Cumbernauld band whose song became a viral hit after Craig Ferguson performed it on The Late Late Show can’t wait to perform at this year’s T in the Park – a year after their bid for a slot was rejected.

Dead Man Fall will take to the T Break stage at Strathallan Castle at 9.15pm on Friday, July 10, giving the Scottish audience a chance to hear the hit which propelled them to the world stage live.

That track Bang Your Drum was actually previously submitted by the band when they applied for T Break last year but they were not given a slot.

A year later and things are looking up for Dead Man Fall thanks to their fellow Cumbernauld ‘resident’ Craig Ferguson.

The group tweeted him asking that he check out the track and he performed it on the popular The Late Late Show with a whole host of other celebrities which made Bang Your Drum a viral hit

Frontman Des McCabe said: “It’s going to be brilliant and there will be a real buzz about the place because it is the first year.

“We want to get our tent rammed. It is the Friday night but we hope to get as many people going along as possible.

“It is strange as we were all previously up at Balado as punters and I was working on some of the tunes back then.

“Now  we are performing at the new site. We hope to meet as many folk as possible during the weekend and we also want to catch Fatboy Slim, Twin Atlantic and Twilight Sad.”

The Indie outfit, who were friends at Our Lady’s High School, played in bands separately before coming together to form Dead Man Fall.

The four-piece, also featuring guitarists Vincent Brownlow and Kevin McLaughlin, and drummer Gareth McLeod, admitted they still can’t get over their viral fame.

Des said: “I still can’t believe Samuel L Jackson was singing my lyrics. When I watch the video again, it is like watching it for the first time.

“Craig Ferguson is a legend for giving us that kind of help.

“For him to take interest in a band from his hometown was just so generous.

“We just hope people will remember the song and come to see us at T in the Park.”
