Fatboy Slim's T in the Park warm-up gig at Sub Club sold-out not long after it was announced, reports Jemma McGuffie.

The last time the superstar DJ and record producer, also known as Norman Cook, played T in the Park was in 1999, the same year he got married to TV and radio presenter Zoë Ball.

Emerging from behind a door at around midnight, dressed in his typical Hawaiian shirt attire, the DJ looked in his element as he instantly observed his gig's high turn-out.

Cook kicked off the raving extravaganza with his award-winning 1999 hit, Praise You. Even at the mature age of 51, he undoubtedly knows all there is to know about getting a party started. His friendly nature came to the fore as he high-fived and shook hands with fans throughout his performance, taking selfies with his devotees almost immediately after getting behind the mixer decks.

That being said, the gig didn't go entirely to plan. There was a very slight technical problem to begin with but the DJ, often referred to by his fans as the Daddy of Dance, recovered quickly, continuing the show and whipping his audience into a euphoric frenzy.

Smoke machines, red lights and a large spinning mirror ball all added to the already lively and upbeat atmosphere within the set.

The crowds went mad for club vibe favourite, Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat, classic dance anthems, Right Here, Right Now and Renegade Master.

Funk Soul Brother closed the show, echoing out into a dramatic conclusion that caused a rumbling thunder from the audience and left many wanting more.

Festival-goers attending his Slam Tent show at Strathallan Castle have a lot to look forward to.
