The movie man of many catchphrases Arnold Schwarzenegger is coming to Scotland.

The Scotsman reports that the Austrian actor is coming to Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) on Wednesday, January 20 but fans will have to pay up to £1500 for the pleasure of his company.

The event will have a Terminator theme featuring a charity auction of Arnie film memorabilia to raise money for an Edinburgh cause which is still to be announced.

Arnie is expected to discuss his rise to fame at the event which saw him become Mr Universe, a star of film and the Governor of California.

An EICC spokeswoman told The Scotsman: “We very much look forward to this event taking place in January, as it is great for the EICC and Edinburgh.

“With every event there is a contractual process that has to be completed and we hope to reach this stage shortly.”

The exclusive black-tie dinner is being organised by leading events company Olexy Productions.

The firm hosted a similar sell-out audience with the actor in Leeds in 2014 which was hosted by comedian and presenter Jonathan Ross.

Several different ticket tiers will be available, starting from £95, which excludes dinner, or £145 which includes a three-course meal.

Those who wish to meet their idol in person can opt to pay for a £1500 platinum ticket package, which includes an intimate “meet and greet” with Schwarzenegger for just 20 people and the opportunity to pose for a selfie with the star.

Ticket holders will have to pay £545 to upgrade to the photo opportunity with the actor.

The Lennox Suite, together with the adjoining concourse, holds a maximum of 2000 for dinner, though the EICC stressed exact numbers were still to be confirmed.

Olexy Productions has also hosted sell-out events with Hollywood legend Al Paccino, Vinnie Jones and have a forthcoming event with Jean Claude Van Damme in Manchester in November.

The actor will also be appearing at a black-tie dinner event in Birmingham the following evening.
