A petition has been launched to get Scot Squad's officer Karen back on the beat.

Actress Karen Bartke, who plays Sergeant Karen Anne Miller in the BBC Scotland comedy, tweeted her amusement after her friend created the official petition.

In the series, Sergeant Miller, however, has been denied her chance to get back on the beat after her civilian admirer Bobby Muir, played by Darren Connell, created a petition on the show to keep her behind the desk where he visits her everyday.

The petition has attracted over 100 supporters who have offered their support to the cause.
