TV presenters Ant and Dec have claimed the Queen personally asked for them to host a horse-themed show celebrating her 90th birthday.
The Geordie duo will front the extravaganza which will be staged in the grounds of Windsor Castle in May and broadcast live on ITV.
The pair presented a documentary about the Prince's Trust last month, and spent part of last year shadowing the Prince of Wales for the ITV programme.
Ant and Dec will appear on Friday night's edition of BBC One's The Graham Norton Show. Asked how their role in the tribute show to the Queen came about, they tell the host: "Apparently, she asked for us to do it.
"We don't really know how it happened but can only imagine she's called Charles and asked if he knew anyone that could do it.
"And he's said, 'I've just met a couple of lads who've been following me around for a year'."
The Queen will attend the event, hosted by the Royal Windsor Horse Show, which will tell the story of her life.
Faces from the world of entertainment will take to the stage and the audience will watch arena performances from a range of organisations including the Oman Royal Cavalry, New Zealand Army Band, the Mounties and the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery.
