The Huntsman sequel has failed to top the US box office, flailing in second place behind The Jungle Book.
Disney’s The Jungle Book, which is in its second weekend in cinemas, beat new opener The Huntsman: Winter’s War by nearly $40 million (£27.8 million).
Winter’s War, which stars Chris Hemsworth, Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain and Charlize Theron, only took in $20.1 million (£13.9 million) against a production budget of $115 million (£79.8 million) in its first days in cinemas.
