Gillian Anderson has indicated that she’s up for starring as the first female James Bond.
Showbiz sites are buzzing about who will slip into 007′s tux following reports that Daniel Craig is vacating the role, and it seems Gillian fancies herself as a contender.
She has re-tweeted a mocked up Bond poster of herself as the secret agent with the hashtag #NextBond, declaring: “It’s Bond. Jane Bond.”
It's Bond. Jane Bond.
Thanks for all the votes! (And sorry, don't know who made poster but I love it!) #NextBond pic.twitter.com/f8GC4ZuFgL— Gillian Anderson (@GillianA) May 21, 2016
Male stars rumoured to be in the running for the coveted part include Idris Elba, Damian Lewis and Tom Hiddleston.
But plenty of fans are keen on X-Files star Gillian giving the role a feminine touch.
CAN YOU IMAGINE GILLIAN ANDERSON AS THE FIRST FEMALE JAMES BOND?? Because I do.

Gillian Anderson as the next Bond would be great. I mean 007 is just a title, and James Bond is just a codename. Bond, Johanna Bond.
