The Voice is to allow trios to audition for the first time when it returns to ITV in 2019.
The singing show has been renewed for a third series by ITV after joining the channel in 2017.
Previously only individuals or duos have been allowed to enter the competition.
Katie Rawcliffe, creative director of ITV studios, said: “We know there are many talented trios out there across the UK and we want to offer them the chance to show off their vocal harmonies on The Voice UK stage.”
The show first launched on the BBC in 2012 and ran for five series before ITV acquired the rights for three additional series.
The current coaches on the show are Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs, Will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson.
