Glasgow ravers are up in arms over a decision by the city council to restrict The Arches licence to 12pm.

The move means no more club nights and an end to a clubbing experience like no other.

There is a petition, thousands of social media rants and DJs tweeting their influence urging followers to save the club.

But why is it so important to Glasgow clubbers? Here are the reasons you'll be heavy ragin if The Arches goes as told by an Arches clubber:

Warning: article contains strobe lighting.

Here we, here we f***ing go never sounds as good anywhere else as it does at The Arches.

A beat doesn't drop anywhere else like it does in The Arches. Queue, here we, here we f***ing go.

It's the only place in the world you can lose your pals and make new ones. From the toilet to the cafe bar, you'll always find someone to talk to at The Arches.

What's the saying, the couple that raves together stays together. So many romances started with a winch under the strobe lights at The Arches.

It's acceptable to get your face painted like you did when you were a wean. Admit it, you love to get your face painted at The Arches.

It's the only club in the whole of the city where taps aff is expected. It's warm raving conditions, deal with it.

It is socially acceptable to wear trainers to The Arches. In fact if you wear heels you are judged. Ladies, say goodbye to party feet.

The Arches has hosted every DJ you can think of over the years and their sets have created huge memories for dance music fans. From Carl Cox to Laidback Luke, there is few DJs out there who haven't played the Arches.

You will miss the nights which have been created to suit the different genres of dance music. From Inside Out to Pressure.

You will miss the music.

You will miss the dancing.

There is no superstar DJs at The Arches. They mingle with crowd, selfie anyone? Or maybe people in the crowd just look like the DJ...

The excitement you feel when all the rooms are open. Not one, not two but three DJs playing different sets at the same time. And it's a whole different ball game if someone is djing in the Arches cafe bar.

Having an early night is not an option when the headline DJ is on at 3am.

The venue itself is so unique. The Arches was made for raving.

The excitement and build up to an Arches night out.

It doesn't matter how old you are. It is still acceptable to rave at the arches.

And there is no denying that smug feeling when you get tickets to a sold out Arches night.

It does make you wonder...
