Slam

Fresh from killing it at the Riverside Festival last Friday, Slam return to normal business tomorrow with its regular monthly night Return to Mono at the Sub Club.

This edition sees the launch of Transmissions: Glasgow, a compilation album released on the duo's Soma Recordings and featuring 15 tracks by an assortment of local producers.

It showcases the city's pedigree as a hotbed of techno talent, as Liam of the exciting young duo Clouds goes back to back with Quail of veterans Animal Farm.

They're joined by a trio of local heavyweights in Petrichor, Deepbass and Puddledub.

On any other weekend this would be the top party in the city - as it is, it's not even the top party at the Subbie.

That comes on Saturday, when Subculture takes to the high seas for its annual boat party.

Residents Harri and Domenic welcome Edinburgh-based deep house producer Fudge Fingas and their protégé Telford on board for the trip doon the watter, before the afterparty back at the Sub Club.

On Sunday, long-running crew Huntleys and Palmers take over the club to celebrate the launch of their next release.

The debut EP from Hi & Saberhagen is available on vinyl from all good record stores, and they'll be performing their bassy, futuristic take on deep house alongside resident Andrew.

Then, on Wednesday night, it's Bonobo, the king of swooning, slow-burning British electronica, who takes to the booth with Sub Rosa for a rare DJ set. Expect trip-hop and woozy beats aplenty if you're one of the lucky few with a ticket.

Degree Show Party

One of the biggest nights on the underground clubbing calendar, the Art School Degree Show Party is the climax of the academic year: a night to let loose after months of tension.

After last year's devastating fire in the Mackintosh Building kept the festivities indoors, tomorrow's party sees it spill out on to the street again.

Franz Ferdinand's Paul Thomson headlines, with sets from Optimo Music's Whilst, experimental house DJ Cleoslaptra, and local crews Push It! And Deadly Rhythm.

€¢ Degree Show Party, tomorrow, The Art School, 8pm - 3am, £10

Mirrors

Regulars at Flat 0/1 will know all about Mirrors, who's become so adept at firing up Friday nights there that he's being courted by Dixon Avenue Basement Jams.

The South Side label, which is hot with a capital H right now, will be releasing some of his productions under his alter-ego Big Miz later this summer.

Tomorrow night he's playing at La Cheetah's For The Record, which is notorious for its hedonistic atmosphere - prepare for things to get messy here.

The following night, the Pistols at Dawn team up with Melting Pot.

They'll be going back to back, serving up supreme slices of Balearic house and sweltering disco jams all night long.

€¢ Mirrors, tomorrow, La Cheetah, 11pm - 3am, £3 after 12am

€¢ Pistols at Dawn and Melting Pot, La Cheetah, 11pm - 3am, £7

Cryptiq: High Fidelity

Cryptiq is a local party crew synonymous with shadowy events in secret locations.

They're living up to the mysterious moniker once again with their latest act of disco subterfuge: a city centre rave-up in a completely unique space.

David Barbarossa, Vicious Creatures and Yellow Door will be spinning house, soul and spaced-out disco, with a pre-party at Mitchell Lane's new Panther Milk Bar - home of the lethal Tiger Milk.

A few too many of these lethal concoctions - made up of condensed milk, gin, rum, Cointreau, peppermint and cinnamon - could put even the hardiest boozehound out of action for the night, so tread carefully.

€¢ Cryptiq with Vicious Creatures, Saturday, secret location, 7pm - 12am, £15
