VIDEOS allegedly showing bottles being smashed over heads. Mobile phone images of free love at its most public doing the rounds on social media. Random acts of violence.

Reports of several tents being robbed, and - perhaps most criminal - the amazing The War on Drugs playing to a handful of people while Guetta attracted thousands.

What with the chaos that unfolded at Strathallan Castle last weekend, it’s lucky that Glasgow City Council’s licensing board aren’t the ones taking a decision on whether it should continue.

For if The Arches is a danger to public safety, what is T in the Park?

Just a few years ago it was one of the best indie festivals in Britain. Now it’s a weekend blowout for the worst sections of society: a mud-caked Magaluf where Avicii is the main musical attraction.

The “Being oot yer nut at T in the Park” Facebook page has come to epitomise all that is wrong with the once-great festival - from a cultural point of view, it is done and it is hard to see it coming back.

Those who wisely chose to avoid the stramash at Strathallan will find themselves refreshed and up for this weekend, which has two big boat parties as its centrepiece.

The first is tomorrow: a 12th birthday party for Numbers, it has local hero Jackmaster at the helm and the club’s resident party prince Spencer in support.

Back on dry land, Parisian hip-hop and electro-funk DJ Kool Clap plays his first Numbers show in Glasgow at the Sub Club after party.

Also of note at the Subbie this week is house spinner Dennis Sulta’s set at iAM on Tuesday night.

The Glaswegian is part of Rubadub Records’ close-knit community: combining disco edits and chopped-up soul, he’s been described as “pure club damage,” which is as accurate and succinct as it gets. Don’t miss him.

On Saturday, it’s SMD’s turn to head down the Clyde, with underground deep house DJ Clive Henry - a resident at Ibiza’s infamous DC10 - in tow.

He’s joined by locals Vilmos and Craig McHugh, and the after party is at Queen Street’s Keller Club this time.

Adriana Lopez

Originally from Bogota, Columbia and now based in Barcelona, Adriana Lopez is head of Grey Report records and one of the world’s most in-demand techno DJs.

Her gritty, driving productions have made her a favourite in the Catalan capital, where the parties go all night - and then some.

Unfortunately this will wrap up at three - but for a taste of those frenetic Spanish nights, get down to La Cheetah on Saturday, and prepare for a sweaty one.

• Adriana Lopez, Saturday, La Cheetah, 11pm - 3am, £6

Aly & Fila

The Egyptian trance duo Aly & Fila take over SWG3 tomorrow to showcase their third album, Future Sound of Egypt Volume Three.

This is the first chance for fans to see their sweeping, big room dance in action since their Boxing Day 2014 gig at The Arches, when their flight to Glasgow was grounded and they missed the gig.

As veterans of the scene, having been performing since 2002, the Cairo combo make grand, spine-tingling trance that will feel all the more intimate in SWG3’s claustrophobic warehouse.

• Aly & Fila, tomorrow, SWG3, 9pm - 3am, £15/20

Gimme Shelter

Playing classic R&B, rock and roll and garage from the ‘50s onwards, Gimme Shelter has the best music policy of any Glasgow club night, without exception.

For their first anniversary party they have San Francisco’s psychedelic beat maker Al Lover playing alongside Glaswegian bands Kill Surrrf and Electric Gardens, with residents Holly Calder and Craig Reece spinning the aforementioned good stuff.

Competing for the indie contingent’s attention is TYCI at Stereo, which has the Milk DJs as guests, and Bloc’s Monster Hospital: where Darude, Paramore and Whitney Houston can be enjoyed back to back.

Completely unironically, of course.

• Gimme Shelter with Al Lover, Saturday, The Flying Duck, 8.30pm - 3am, £4

• Monster Hospital, Saturday, Bloc, 11pm - 3am, free

• TYCI, Saturday, Stereo, 11.30pm - 3am, £5
