“Like Sid Vicious reincarnated” was how superstar DJ Seth Troxler described Skream’s antics while on tour earlier this summer.

The Croydon dubstep pioneer has a reputation as a wild man, but his hedonistic streak has never affected his ability to create bangers and play shows that are absolutely mind-blowing.

At the Sub Club tomorrow, he’ll be playing underground house, techno and bass for four hours straight – if he can stay up for four nights, stamina shouldn’t really be an issue.

Before that, Skream collaborator Route 94 plays at Show.

Now a deep house producer of some note, it’s easy to forget the Londoner is only 21 and still has his best years ahead of him.

If he can sustain his current momentum, Rinse FM have another superstar on their hands.

Support comes from local house producer Illyus, who has been slaying recently as one half of Illyus and Barrientos.

Route 94, tonight, Sub Club, 11pm – 3am, £8

Skream, tomorrow, Sub Club, 11pm – 3am, £15

Psychedelic Forest Carnival

The annual Psychedelic Forest Carnival, held in the picturesque grounds of Ayrshire’s Kelburn Castle, is by now one of the highlights of the clubbing calendar.

In ambience and spirit, it is a throwback to the all-night rural raves of the ‘90s: albeit with a more bass- and reggae-oriented soundtrack.

There will be enormous speaker systems, intense light shows and more than a few crusties.

Don’t let that put you off, though - the atmosphere is one of sheer hedonism and acts that sound as massive as ASBO Disco, Red Eye Hi-Fi and Maxi Roots in Cumbia should be enjoyed in a setting as weird and delightful as this.

Psychedelic Forest Carnival, Saturday, 6pm – late, sold out

Numbers x Dekmantel

Two European stalwarts of new dance music are going head-to-head at the Art School tomorrow for what should be a monumental party.

They are Numbers, the Glaswegian cabal responsible for Jackmaster, Rustie and Hudson Mohawke, and Dekmantel, their similarly-minded relations from Amsterdam.

Headlining is Fatima Yamaha, a Dutch producer who has enjoyed some minor chart success back home but is well-known among Numbers fans for his 2004 instrumental “What’s a Girl to Do” – an understated piece of genius electro.

It’s just been re-released, so expect to hear that and other bangers at this unmissable party.

Before that, Glasgow label Astral Black and their Brighton peers Donky Pitch lock arms to bring you a free night, packed with special sets from Mount Bank and Lockah, with “Eno-esque soundscapes, council estate rap beats” and “hints of happy hardcore” in store.

You had me at “Eno-esque”.

Astral Black, tomorrow, The Art School, 7pm – 10pm, free

Numbers x Dekmantel, tomorrow, The Art School, 11pm – 3am, sold out

House Party

Continuing their run of enormous themed parties, the team who turned SWG3 into a Latin barrio have something special up their sleeve to wind up the summer season.

Local promoters Sub Rosa, Stay Fresh and Thunder Disco Club are turning the Finnieston warehouse into one massive empty tomorrow night.

Taking inspiration from the 1990 film House Party, the Nightshift DJs will provide a hip-hop and house soundtrack to this recreation of all of your awkward teenage house party fumblings.

The only downside?

There’s no kitchen, so prepare to leave your comfort zone.

· Nightshift: The House Party, tomorrow, SWG3, 11pm – 3am, £10

Jasper James

Subcity returns to the QMU for the first time in years with this stellar triple threat party that spans three levels of the famous old union.

The station has enlisted regulars Echobloom, Lava Lava, The Lance Vance Dance and Nino’s Dream to play exotic grooves, club classics and, ahem, “baby-making music” in the main room, with local label Handpicked playing eclectic hip-hop and charitable club Philanthrobeats bringing feel-good vibes to the other rooms.

· Subcity Freshers’ Takeover, Saturday, QMU, 10pm – 3am, £4
