His new year resolution might be to give up on partying but the party is expected to be in full swing when Kryder plays Glasgow tonight.

For the English record producer will be entertaining Glasgow ravers at the Colours Winter Party at the o2 ABC alongside his contemporaries Eddie Halliwell, Mauro Picotto, Will Atkinson and Tom Staar.

The London-born star said: “My new year’s resolution? It would probably be to calm down on partying and put more energy into my career.”

The energy he has put into his career so far, however, seems to have paid off.

His track Aphrodite is loved by clubbers across the world and he regularly turns up the heat on the dance floor through remixes of tracks made by some of the biggest DJs around including David Guetta, Afrojack and Armin Van Buuren.

It is that mix of music that fans in Glasgow will be ready to embrace when he takes to the decks.

“I love the Scottish fans,” he beamed.

He added: “They always give 100 per cent energy and passion, and get behind your performance, which makes it a really enjoyable experience.”

The experience will be easy to enjoy for ravers especially with what Kryder has up his sleeve for his set.

He said: “The set will be 126bpm of solid pumping house grooves, with everything from slamming progressive to tribal house!”

He added: “My sound is feel good house grooves, full of energy, big drums, epic drops and melodic breaks.”

Although he is passionate about what he does, Kryder is the first to admit that being an international DJ can have its drawbacks.

He said: “It can get quite lonely on tour sometimes.

“When you have been away from your family and friends for a few months, you can spend quite a lot of time on your own in airports and hotel rooms.”

He, however, added: “I love getting to do something I have been passionate about all my life as a career.

“To be able to entertain people, as well as get to meet lots of amazing and interesting people.

“The fact is I get lots of freedom to be creative and really push myself”

With huge passion for the game, it is easy to see why Kryder, whose real name is Chris Knight, is a DJ.

Even he admits he would still work in music if he wasn’t spinning on the decks.

He said: “I started djing at under 18s discos when I was 12 and even though I tried lots of other jobs this was the only one I haven’t been sacked from!

“I do love finding and signing new music, so if I wasn’t djing I am sure I would still be in the music industry doing that as a career.”

That career will continue to flourish next year with plans for new music and a tour around the world.

Kryder said: “In 2017, there will be more great releases from Cartel and Sosumi.

“I will be continuing to support up and coming producers on my Sosumi label, as well as growing the new website sosumirecords.com

“I will be doing tours in South America, Asia and Europe.

“There will be collaborations with some great producers, as well as some original releases from myself.”

With a busy schedule already organised for next year, you have to how wonder how the in-demand producer copes.

“I am really lucky to have a supportive team around me who help me keep it all together,” he admitted.

He will, however, take time out before the Boxing Day gig tonight to relax with his friends and family on Christmas day.

But after the festivities, it will be business as usual as he continues to impress dance music fans across the world.

“I enjoy different places for different reasons, as everywhere is so unique,” he said when asked about his favourite place to play.

“He added: “However, at the moment some of the best experiences I have had in regards to forward thinking events and crowd reactions has to be in Japan and Asia.”
