UK PRODUCERS Blawan and Pariah have been touring as Karenn since 2012, establishing a devoted underground following through their notoriously intense live shows.

They're back at the Sub Club tonight, bringing the hard-edged, slamming techno that has won them so much acclaim.

Blawan's reputation as a tattooed techno terrorist - he has KICK DRUM emblazoned across his knuckles - is unlikely to be diminished when their latest EP drops.

This year's Karenn remix of Jon Hopkins' Collider had drum sound geeks sweating, but for a real taste of their industrial live show check out their Boiler Room set from 2012.

With Slam in support tonight, this one is set to be crushing.

Speaking of which, tomorrow's Sensu 10th Birthday bash is set to go along the same lines.

It's the first of five parties marking that milestone, with Roman record label Life and Death bringing along the pick of their roster to celebrate.

The label's co-founders, the smashing DJ Tennis and Tale of Us are on co-headline duties, while Junior and Barry Price warm up.

The antics continue down on Jamaica Street throughout the week with Subculture (Saturday), Fly Club (Sunday) and iAM (Tuesday) but the pick of the bunch is Sub Rosa on Wednesday with the UK Garage-influenced house DJ Huxley.

l Karenn, tonight, Sub Club, 11pm - 3am, £10

l Sensu is 10, tomorrow, Sub Club, 10pm - 4am, £25

l Sub Rosa with Huxley, Wednesday, Sub Club, 11pm - 3am, £7

Ibiza reunion

BANGING tunes are the only thing that can be guaranteed at this Ibizan mega-rave: after that, all bets are off.

The Gorbals might not be as exotic as San Antonio, but on Saturday night it'll be impossible to tell them apart as The Highlander's annual reunion rocks up at the Academy.

The likes of Andy Raeside, Jason Cortez and Matt Finlay are the DJs charged with recreating the feeling of being in a Scottish-themed pub, surrounded by Scottish people and getting blasted to the summer's biggest dance anthems.

Why, I'm feeling nostalgic at the mere thought.

l The Highlander Ibiza Reunion, Saturday, O2 Academy, 10pm - 3am, £11

May the force

DETROIT techno veteran Derrick May returns to Glasgow tomorrow to headline this closing party for the The Mental Health Foundation's Arts and Film Festival.

Alongside Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson, May was part of the Belleville Three - the trio who pioneered the genre in the early '80s, laying the foundations for dance music as we know it.

He'll be taking to the decks all night long in the Art School's Assembly Hall, with a bunch of invited guests spread across the other rooms. On Saturday it's TYCI's monthly party at Bloc, which this month is thrown in conjunction with the same festival. They've got London post-punk duo duex furieuses playing live and Flore de Hoog supplying the vinyl. Also making the Art School shake this weekend is Freaky Freaky's 3rd Birthday Party, at which Martelo provides the heavy R&B and hip-hop.

l Derrick May, tomorrow, The Art School, 11pm - 3am, £5/£10/£12

l TYCI, Saturday, Bloc, 11pm - 3am, free/£2

l Freaky Freaky 3rd Birthday, Saturday, The Art School, £8
