Verdict: three stars.

Festival season in Scotland has officially kicked off - well for the ravers anyway.

For thousands of revellers descended on the Riverside Museum on Friday to experience the first of two days of some of the biggest names in dance music at the Electric Frog & Pressure Riverside Festival.

Now in it's third year, the event has continued to grow in popularity and clearly picks up - to an extent - where Rockness left off - offering some of the best international DJs a platform to showcase their music in Scotland.

Fans soaked in a variety of different DJ offerings including Julio Bashmore, Len Faki and Siriusmodeselektor across three stages.

The atmosphere was boosted with popping dancers, face painters and promotional girls handing out two festival essentials for Glasgow city centre - hand heaters and sunglasses.

Those freebies reflected the weather perfectly as the sunshine disappeared to a sudden downpour.

The festival organisers put the fans at the front of their plans and look for ways to make the event better which was evident in new additions such as a third stage, VIP area and Prosecco bar.

But that Scottish weather means you can suddenly be exposed to the elements - and for some fans the dip in temperatures proved too much.

The Electric Frog & Riverside Festival, however, continues to stand out as it is such a unique offering and there is nothing else quite like it.

As fans look two day two with the piece de resistance on offer - a set from the one and only Sven Vath, it is clear this festival will continue to grow.

And maybe just one year we might get sunshine.

Tickets are now only available on site at the event.
