A MASSIVE Saturday night at The Arches in Glasgow sees two opposing clubs duking it out in the same venue.

A trio of Chicago legends in Felix da Housecat, DJ Pierre and Marshall Jefferson occupy the Argyle Street end, while round at Midland Street Zoom present some of the world's biggest trance DJs: Marco V, Neelix and Eddie Bitar among them. Could get fierce.

l Felix da Housecat, DJ Pierre and Marshall Jefferson, Saturday, The Arches, 10pm - 3am, £10

l Zoom with Goodgreef and Marco V, Saturday, The Arches, 9pm-3am, £17

BOUNCY rave pianos, big hooks and machine-funk are the order of the day when Oban-born producer Drums of Death is in town.

At this Flash Mob party he's joined by fast-rising young producer Barrientos, Glasgow Underground's most recent signing.

His remix of Romanthony's Bring U Up has been doing the rounds lately and it shows the Paisley newcomer at his blissful, summery, slow-burning best.

Flash Mob resident Vandelay warms up with house and disco to get you in the mood.

The following night sees XY Glasgow return to Saint Judes for their second outing, this time with 18-year-old Bristolian Applebottom and his heartfelt house.

l Flash Mob with Drums of Death, Barrientos and Vandelay, tomorrow, Saint Judes, 11pm-3am, £5

l XY Glasgow with Applebottom, Saturday, Saint Judes, 10.30pm-3am, £8

DUTCH analogue synth experimentalist Legowelt headlines at Subculture on Saturday.

Although it's a launch party for the Croatian Dimensions Festival, Rock Ness might have been a more fitting fest for the Dutchman.

Last year he ran a challenge asking fans to create a Commodore 64 game, the winner being scored by Legowelt.

The victor was Loch Ness, and the soundtrack (also created on the primitive system) is a dark and ambient set of glitchy 8-bit noise.

None of it will be getting an airing on Saturday. Expect the Dutchman to deliver a sterling set of his usual house, techno and electro.

Before that, Stay Fresh has Jasper James (son of Subculture resident Harri) and Joshua bringing straight-up party vibes tonight, and sleaze merchants Thunder Disco Club welcome acid analogue house rebels Paranoid London.

l Stay Fresh with Jasper James and Joshua, tonight, Sub Club, 11pm - 3am, £5

l Thunder Disco Club with Paranoid London, tomorrow, Sub Club, 11pm - 3am, £8

l Subculture: Dimensions Festival Launch, Saturday, Sub Club, 11pm-3am, £10

FRIDAY Street, Glasgow's leading mod night, is due to end next month after 13 successful and impeccably-dressed years.

This session at Blackfriars is significant. It'll be their penultimate party and last ever mod weekender.

The good news is that they're back in October in a new venue and under a new name - keep the faith, indeed.

l Friday Street, tomorrow, Blackfriars, 10.30pm - 3am, £5
