SAN FRANCISCO group PillowTalk headline this latest instalment of The Shimmy, the long-running house night now harboured at Saint Judes.

The trio make deep, soulful tunes that marry classic R&B, boogie and disco to underground house and techno: check out Loves Makes Parks, which was released on Visionquest in 2010.

It's sunbleached, low-key and eminently groovy, which augurs well for tomorrow night.

The following evening, Tribal Pulse takes over the sweaty Bath Street basement with Sandrien the headliner.

One of Amsterdam's finest techno DJs, she holds down a residency at the iconic Trouw and is a regular at Berlin's Berghain. Dark techno grooves and trippy 3D visuals await.

l The Shimmy with PillowTalk, tomorrow, Saint Judes, 10pm - 3am, £7/£10

l Tribal Pulse with Sandrien, Saturday, Saint Judes, 11pm - 3am, £5/£8

Show is on

AT the famous Sub Club this evening is the launch for Show, a new night which promises innovative, bleeding-edge dance music.

Manchester's Ben Pearce kicks things off with his deep house vibes - he's supported by similarly-styled local boy Illyus and Edinburgh's Theo Kottis.

And, as everyone else winds down their weekend, make the best preparation for work on Monday with the after party for last weekend's Sold Gold Safari Weekender.

It features US house DJ Tyson Koski, plus residents DJ Dribbler and The Earl. Word of warning, though: it's unlikely to get as chaotic as the festival itself, which had the cops trudging through the Ayrshire countryside to shut it down. Narcs.

l Show with Ben Pearce, tonight, Sub Club, 11pm - 3am, £5

l Solid Gold Safari - The Afterparty, Sunday, Sub Club, 11pm - 3am, £5

Gui jets in

FINDING itself displaced by some festival that takes place there in August, Edinburgh rave-up Kapital deigns to head west just this once.

We don't mind where they are from though, because they are bringing the Brazilian beatmaker Gui Boratto with them.

He makes the kind of dark, atmospheric techno that studio warehouse SWG3 was designed for, and he's supported by residents Barry O'Connell and Brad Charters.

If you can't stand that East Coast nonsense, La Cheetah has the perfect antidote on Saturday. Made In Glasgow features local talent such as Bosco, Rebecca Vasmant and Junkyard Dog for a more down-to-earth vibe.

l Kapital with Gui Boratto, tomorrow, SWG3, 11pm - 3am, £17.50

l Made in Glasgow with Rebecca Vasmant, Saturday, 11pm - 3am, £5

Clash of dates

DILEMMAS are afoot on Saturday as several indie icons clash with a big EDM mega-gig.

Selected Service at the Flying Duck devotes an entire night to the pioneering Sheffield dance label Warp, meaning noises from the likes of Rustie, Aphex Twin and Hudson Mohawke.

TYCI are forced to decamp to Stereo thanks to Bloc's refurb, but they have Swim Team playing live and All the Rage DJs, so no worries.

And The Glad Café is celebrating its second birthday, with DJs Fielding Hope and Steev from Errors.

All well and good, but can they compete with the pull of David Guetta - the world-slaying dance DJ who's collaborated with every pop star ever - in a sodden Bellahouston Park? Um, definitely. I know where I'd rather be.

l Selected Service, Saturday, The Flying Duck, 11pm - 3am, £5

l TYCI, Saturday, Stereo, 11pm - 3am, £2

l The Glad Café's 2nd Birthday, Saturday, The Glad Café, 8pm - 12am, free

l David Guetta, Saturday, Bellahouston Park, 4pm - 11pm, £44
