Dinosaur drama Jurassic World has smashed box office records by becoming the fastest film to make 1 billion US dollars (£650 million) at cinemas.
The film, which stars Chris Pratt, made £19 million at the UK box office alone in its first weekend.
Guinness World Records said the film, the latest instalment in the Jurassic Park saga, made 1 billion dollars (£634 million) worldwide in 13 days from June 10.
That puts its ahead of the previous record holder, Fast & Furious 7, which took 17 days to make that much.
Its success is the latest milestone in what is expected to be a blockbuster year at the cinema with Fifty Shades Of Gray and Avengers: Age of Ultron already packing in audiences.
That success is expected to continue when the new instalment of the Star Wars saga, The Force Awakens, is released in December.
The film stars a mixture of relative unknowns along with veterans Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher reprising their roles as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia.
