JJ Abrams has written a touching note paying tribute to Anton Yelchin, after he died in a car accident.
The actor was killed when his car rolled down his driveway and struck him early on Sunday morning.

Filmmaker JJ directed Anton in his best known role as Chekov in 2009′s Star Trek and its 2013 follow up Star Trek Into Darkness.
He posted a picture of his handwritten message online, in which he called the late actor “brilliant”.

Several other celebrities have also expressed their condolences following the accident, including Anton’s Star Trek co-stars Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban and John Cho.
